Introducing Original Fabrics
For some time I have been thinking about designing my own fabrics as I am keen to ensure my products are unique, fun and stylish.
I had no idea how to go about doing this but started with a book! I purchased a graphics pad and from there practiced drawing and editing photographs. Some of my early attempts were pretty awful and all were abandoned in frustration.
I then decided to take inspiration from the British countryside and wildlife and in particular hidden places in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.
This beautiful seagull fabric was inspired by a walk along the north Cornish coast. The seagulls were soaring on warm thermals above the beach and sea.
My design is a flock of delightful seagulls on a golden yellow background representative of sandy beaches. I made the pattern exactly the right size for my bags and my fabric choice was 100% cotton canvas which is hard wearing and made from natural fibres. I also had this design printed on a vibrant ocean blue background representative of the sea.
I have complemented my gorgeous fabric with a cheerful yellow vegan leather to create a charming makeup bag.
I can’t tell you how exciting it is to be able to offer fabrics not available anywhere else in the world!
